The brief

The clients needed their new home’s outdoor spaces to work hard, catering to parking, play and everyday living. The scope included paved areas, lawn, garden beds and a functional verge that could double as off-street parking.

The result

The finished property gave the family everything they had asked for and more. The upper level came together as a cohesive, well-considered space: a wide lawn area that gives the kids room to run, a neat garden bed running the full length of the fenceline that adds colour and definition without demanding constant attention, and clean paving that frames the house and ties the spaces together. Out front, the verge was fully transformed from an underutilised strip into a practical, attractive entry point, with timber sleepers and paved sections creating designated parking and Aquamor mulch keeping the beds tidy season after season. The clients were delighted with the outcome and the low-maintenance nature of the design means the property continues to look well-kept with minimal effort on their part.

The solution

Preferred Group created a layered upper level with a generous lawn area for the kids, a narrow garden bed along the fenceline and paving that runs close to the house. The verge was treated with timber sleepers and paved sections for parking, with Aquamor mulch used throughout to keep weed growth in check with minimal upkeep.
